Resources

A player's warehouse almost filled to the brim with resources.

Resources are one of the core gameplay elements. They are needed to do various things: building guild artifacts, paying taxes, doing quests, but most importantly, gaining (or losing) money GoldSilverCoppervia trading. They are stored in one's warehouse.

Resource types[]

Resources are divided into two groups: Primary (4) and Secondary (6). There's in total 10 kinds of resources in the game. During the Travianer beta in 2007, a Water resource also existed, but that got removed from the game's full version.

Secondary[]

  • Big water Water Water (primary resource)

Harvesting resources[]

Each resource has either a harvest location (primary) or a resource building (secondary). The player needs to use the given building and spend occupation points in order to produce a certain amount of the desired resource. Each resource has three harvest locations (resource buildings) in total. One in the main village, one out of town (provides +10% resource bonus), and one on Thalassos (possibly provides an ever so slightly bigger bonus).

Harvest locations[]

Tree (wood)[]

Clay pit (clay)[]

Mine (ore)[]

Field (grain)[]

Well (water)[]

In the Travianer beta, it was possible to acquire water by using wells.

Sawmill (wooden boards)[]

Wood clamp (coal)[]

Brickyard (bricks)[]

Bakery (bread)[]

Foundry (iron)[]

Occupations and tools[]

A player gets more of any given resource by making it their occupation, e.g. woodcutters get more wood from cutting trees, clay burners get more bricks from burning clay, etc. This depends on the level of the occupation the player is at. Each new level, a player can redistribute three attribute points - one of them goes towards fight skills AND occupations. If a player decides to add a point to their fight skills, they won't be able to improve the efficiency of their occupation(s) that level.

The occupation efficiency can be extended even more by buying and using tools. In order for tools to be used, the player mustn't be completely hungry. Tools use more occupation points per one process of creating resources - e.g. a player uses two OP instead of one if the tool they have says so; but they also yiel more of the given resource. All of the stats can be found in the tool's description in the tools menu.
